Welcome to
Wild Bramble Farm
Located on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State.
We raise ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. in 2016 we fell in love with the nigerians due to their size and their milk. a small dairy goat with a big personality. Perfect for our hobby. while we don’t actively show them, we do still intentionally raise quality milk goats perfect for small acreages or large farms.
Our nigerians goats produce a high butter fat milk that is perfect for adding a richness to our hand made soaps. It adds to the bubbles and is known to noursish your skin. Our soap is sold under via our Northwest Soap Company. check them out at nwsoap.com
NIGERIAN DWARF
The Nigerian Dwarf is a miniature breed of dairy goat originating in West Africa and developed in the United States. The balanced proportions of the Nigerian Dwarf give it the appearance of the larger breeds of dairy goats, but does stand no more than 22.5″ (57 cm) and bucks no more than 23.5″ (60 cm). Any color or combination of colors is acceptable. The medium length ears are erect and alert. The face is either straight or dished, and the hair is short and fine.

A single buckling black with minimal white. available now weaned and can be wethered.
We had a bunch of misbehaving bucks in December of 2023. They broke a post that enabled them to join the does. Even though they were caught early, four does still managed to get bred. They were Mimzy, Willow, Rose, and Bliss.
Since I do not wish to spend the energy or money to dna the kids, all will be sold as pets. The bucklings may go as wethers and the doelings will go as unregistered pets.
Rose Kids: DOB: May 11, 2024 One buck and One doe
Mimzy Kids: DOB: May 12, 2024 Two bucks and a doeling

our kids are started on Kalmbach Feeds Start Right Young Goat Feed that contains decoquinate to help prevent
a cocci outbreak. we currently order it from chewy.com. If you choose to discontinue feeding a grain
that contains a coccidiostat, please be aware that you run the risk of your kid having
a cocci outbreak in approximately 21 days following you taking them home.
this is the approximate life cycle of the cocci and stress from a move is a common trigger

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold an adult goat or doe kid ($50 deposit on wethers).
We accept cash, money order, Venmo (may require a transaction fee),
and personal checks provided they are received at least two weeks prior
to scheduled pick-up and that they clear the bank.
There will be a $50 NSF check fee should your personal check not clear the bank.
We know things may happen that are out of your control that can cause NSF situations.
Please contact us ASAP to discuss your options to take care of the NSF.
Failure to do so will obviously forfeit your reservation (unless you take care of the NSF
and deposit) and we reserve the right to send the NSF check amount and nsf fee to collections.
Purchasing a Kid from us:
we may choose to bottle feed our kids, leave them on their dams full-time,
or something in between. prices will reflect the work we put in.
For those with prior bottle feeding experience, we may allow you to take your baby home at 4 weeks of age
if they are already being bottle fed. We reserve the right to refuse such a request
for any reason if it impacts the well being of your kid.
No kids will leave prior to 4 weeks.
bottle kids are fed raw milk from their dams. If you are taking a kid home prior to weaning we
may send home enough milk to feed a day or two.
We recommend you source either your own raw goat milk or raw whole
cow's milk before picking up your kid. Although not as good, whole milk
from the store will work if that is your only option.
Do NOT feed less than whole milk. Goats need the higher fat content.
We do not recommend a powdered milk supplement as there have
been too many issues with quality and compatibility to goat kid tummies.
It is a lot of work to bottle feed kids as we have to milk their dams twice a day,
bottles to clean and sterilize between each feeding, milk to be warmed up prior
to each round, and then the time to ensure each kid is receiving enough milk by feeding
each and every one separately. We may opt to leave kids on their dams as well.
our prices will reflect if bottle fed or dam raised accordingly.
When we bottle feed, we use the following schedule:
4-5 weeks of age: 3 feedings of 5-6 oz at 8 am, 2 pm, 8 pm
6-7 weeks of age: 2 feedings of 8-10 oz at 8 am and 8 pm
8-12 weeks of age: 1 feeding at 8 am
By 8 weeks our kids are eating hay and grain as their primary diet.
We wean between 8-12 weeks here on the farm.
The the actual time depends on the health/progress of the kid.
Some of our kids may be on a modified bottle diet where they sleep separate from mom at night,
then receive one bottle in the morning(after milking their mom), and then they spend the
day with their dams nursing as needed. This still makes for friendly kids,
they are able to take a bottle full-time as needed, and yet they still get herd time to learn how to be a goat.
if purchasing a dam raised kid, you will find them to be a bit stand offish compared to the in-your-face bottle kids.
while a bit wild in the begining, by spending daily time with your new kids and offering them their grain by hand,
you can build trust with them and get them to settle down.
You will have 14 days to pick up your goat or kid(s) upon being notified they are ready to go.
Failure to do so, or make other arrangements, is grounds to lose your deposit.
In the event you chose to pay for your selected goat in full (and have been notified they are ready to go),
we reserve the right to keep up to 50% of the paid amount before refunding the balance
should you fail to pick up your goat as scheduled.
If longer than 14 days is needed to pick up your goat, there may be a small boarding fee of $10 per week for feed and care.
Arrangements must be made within the 14 day period. The board must be paid in full prior to or at time of pickup.
Neutering Wethers
Intended wethers will be neutered using a Burdizzo/Emasculatome.
There are pros and cons to this method:
PRO: More humane method, no open wound for possible infection
CON: May take several months to confirm it was successful
This process crushes the spermatic cord and blood vessels to the testicles cutting off
blood flow causing them to shrink and die off within the sack.
This is a bloodless method as you are not cutting to castrate.
We prefer this method as it is less painful than banding that may
take days of throbbing to finally cut off the blood supply and less traumatic as
they are usually up and moving the same day.
You do need to check your boy in 3-4 weeks to confirm the testicles have stopped growing.
By 3 months post procedure, they should be hard and have begun to shrink.
If for any reason we fail to crush the cord completely and it needs to be done again,
please just let us know to make an appointment to check and do the procedure again if needed.
Regarding Adult Goat Purchases:
We may not refund your deposit if you change your mind about purchasing
an adult goat without just cause (subject to our approval).
We ask that arrangements to pick up an adult goat be made at the time you pay your deposit.
We will allow a grace of 14 days to pick up an adult goat. If a longer time is needed you must
make arrangements and have a clear time for pickup. Depending on the time frame,
a boarding fee of $10 per week may be assessed and must be paid prior to or at pickup.
We will confirm this at the time pick up arrangements are made.
All goats and kids must be paid in full before or at time of pickup.
In the event something happens that we deem necessary to halt the sale of a kid or goat that you have paid a
deposit on or made payments on prior to you picking them up, we will refund your deposit and any payments made
or you may apply your deposit and any payments made to another kid/goat that is available at that time.
All kids will be disbudded, current on CD/T vaccines, current on worming,
and will have been started on grain prior to being sent to their new homes.
We reserve the right to wether any buckling that does not meet our breeding standards
and/or sell a doeling as a pet without papers for the same reason.
Bucklings are normally wethered around 8 weeks of age.
We will not take a goat back after it has left our farm. Kids will leave our farm in good health.
We make no warranties or guarantees for any illness, injury, or death that occurs after a goat/kid leaves our farm.
There are many factors that are out of our control that can effect a goat/kid once they leave our farm.
things such as: care, feed, sanitation, bio-security (exposure to illness/disease), and stress.

We are unable to guarantee the breedability, show career, or milk production of any kids sold.
Nor can we guarantee an adult goat will settle or kid. There are just too many factors.
Should you decide not to keep a goat that you've purchased from Wild Bramble Farm,
we would be happy to help you in finding it another home.
We reserve the right to refuse the sale of any goat to anyone at anytime!
Transport/Shipping
We are able to ship out of Seatac Airport.
However, it will be at our discretion and there will be additional fees involved such as gas, time, vet certificates, shipping crates, and airline fees. Please contact us if you are interested in shipping one of our goats.
There are several cross country goat shippers. We would be happy to help put you in contact with them. It is up to you to arrange the transportation and pay their fees directly. If within Washington, Oregon, or Idaho, we may be able to meet part way for a fee.
